Hallo blog it's sunday! More importantly that means i've had my kingston interview already just me and a thousand other highly competitive, starving for success students desperately trying to impress for fifty five places on the course. I do not like those odds. Still got bath spa interview next week wooh! And i've just submitted my camberwell online portfolio. Everything just seems to be slotting nicely into place. Been doing some illustration work that i didn't have chance to scan in before i stuck it down in my portfolio, so here's some photos but they're pretty sketchy... they look so much more amazing.. ahem.. in real life






Good stuff! There's a few more i will upload when i'm less tired and hungover.

Did these ages ago for lovely Lauren Squires' birthday but i never posted it guess because my mac was broken. So basically they're play toys that you can make up your own stories and adventures with like when you were a kid.. but slightly more sinister. The little naked guy represents the fragile and vulnerable human and his own thought bubble is trying to eat him because his thoughts are so completely consuming. We've all been there. Beth Dawson mentioned today i have a lot of naked people in my work lately. I don't know why... I like to think it speaks of my new found maturity.

Today was my last chance to take anything to the printers before my Kingston interview so I made some mock ups of my boat project so at least they could see what i've been doing even if it's not resolved. Pretty rubbish but hey-ho!

boat pond photos

Got my boat pond photos done today but it really didn't come out as well as i had hoped... siiiigh. Ended up realising that the boats wouldn't float so i used tin foil and clingfilm instead but i don't think it looked enough like water and it was all just too visually busy! Also by the time we got to the woods a whole bunch of things had broken and we left it pretty late in the day so it was getting darker real fast. Not good. Lots of editing to do but i still have the boats so i can go ahead and try something different if i really need to.

so these are all the boats i think it's enough. hopefully get the boat pond photos and poster sorted out in the next couple of days and printed all ready for my portfolio. wooooh

I always remember when I was younger tutors used to say to me that there's no such thing as an original idea, and thought has stuck with me. Also don't fall in love with your first idea... but that's kind of unrelated.
