Been meaning to do these little wooden paintings for ages! So nice to have holidays and do some work just for fun. Gouache on wood found in the skips at college.

christmas cards
Lino printed these, I wanted to do three colours originally but it looked rubbish so in the end I just used the top layer, pretty nice! Really hoping for good snow this winter to build a big snowman!
And this one I made special for Toby, penguins and bicycles that's what Christmas is all about right!

THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA
My first lithograph print! Yeyy!
Image is based on awesome film director James Cameron who in March this year went to the bottom of the ocean further down than anyone has ever been before! In a little green submarine! So my drawing is about trying to imagine what would be down there and his sense of isolation but peace he must felt as he was hanging out at the bottom of the sea all by himself!
Messed up the alignment of my layers a bit but I like it anyway and will definitely do more litho in the future it's super nice!

THE CHARACTER OF THE COFFEE
Just finished an editorial photography workshop with lovely photographer Colin Hawkins which was great i learnt lots! I used Toby as my subject doing his new job at Roundhill Roastery, I wanted to capture the precision and perfectionsim of the speciality coffee industry with a clean, fresh aesthetic. So thanks to the boys for letting me into the roastery and if you like coffee try their stuff at the super cool Society Cafe!

NEW HEATHENS
Just finished this project to make a set of nine fortune telling cards which I based around good old British folklore. Bit of a mad rush putting them together but fun project to do lots of drawing and got loads of good inspiration from The Museum Of British Folklore and awesome book The Folk Archive by Jeremy Deller which are well worth checking out! Cards are a combination of gouache, pencil, colouring pencils and photography all put together on photoshop.

3D spray paint
Had a product design class in which i came up with this 3d spray paint can. The graphics are pretty rubbish since it was really about the business side of things but anyway i called it 'Optikal Trix'. The packaging is designed so you can rest your 3d glasses on the little box man's head when you're not using them and it's good for interior and outdoor use!
